Charlie Hole Releases – Boundaries

Charlie Hole is one of the most exciting young singer-songwriters around nowadays. Tackling relatable subject matters for all audiences, the Bournemouth-born-and-raised musician with a brave and honest voice has already been coined by Rod Stewart as an emerging talent with a gift for writing ‘beautiful songs’. After a chance meeting with well-respected guitarist and producer Jim Cregan (Rod StewartKatie Melua, Family), the pair began working closely together, with Jim mentoring Charlie and teaching him about the world of songwriting while always pushing him to develop his own style and sound.

Boundaries is the sixth single from the upcoming Charlie Hole album Beautiful Decay.

Some words about Boundaries:
“Sometimes you have to really work hard to get a song out, you have to carve away at it for days, and sometimes it’s months or even years before you really start to understand what it’s about. I can spend days on end banging my head against the wall, scratching my pen across pieces of paper, and tearing my hair out over one word or syllable that won’t be beaten into shape.

Boundaries was one of the rare occasions where a song landed fully-formed in my lap, an effortless birth that felt more like I was setting it free than torturing it out of myself.

I don’t know where it came from, I don’t know why, or how, but Boundaries is about the feeling of being shut out by someone you love, and the feeling of slowly falling away from a person who won’t let you in. There are walls we put up around ourselves to stop us from getting hurt and this song is about realising that sometimes the only person you’re hurting is yourself. There comes a point where the only thing left to do is to move on and that’s why I wrote the song.”
