Premiered on BBC’s Introducing, ‘Wild’ is the second single from Phoebe Coco’s forthcoming debut album.
It was born in the heat of the trees deep within the forests of the South of France, where the words escape the earth and the creature within us awakes.
Shot across the course of one night with an all female crew, the video, made in collaboration with film maker, Meg Lavender, (Polyester Magazine, Dream Wife) opens beneath a brooding twilight sky and reaches a sudden, unforseable storm, where Phoebe Coco and her younger twin sisters, Grace and Dorothy, experience the heavens as they open. The song words are a spell that becomes a reality captured on VHS tape, through the heavy downpour we see the three sisters become truly ‘Wild’ in the woods as they are drenched to the skin.
Throughout the tidal rain the stength of the sister’s bond remains unbreakable, reaching high emotions, ecstasy, and serene calm. Its an intimate yet powerful journey; the listener follows the voice of Phoebe Coco and the luscious harmonies of her sisters, carried in a carriage of warm piano and driving electronic percussion. The track was co-produced with Mark Makarov of Sharp Attack Records.
The single artwork was shot by award winning and highly acclaimed British photographer, Hayley Weir, and featured in Le Monde magazine.
