Today, internationally-renowned singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé has shared the official music video her latest single ‘Look What You’ve Done,’ featuring acclaimed U.K rapper Jaykae. The music video was directed by renowned director Luke Biggins who tragically lost his life last month.
Emeli Sandé says, “I was so shocked and saddened to hear that Luke Biggins has passed away. I worked with him for the first time on the video for ‘Look What You’ve Done’ with Jaykae. He was such a kind, considerate and creative person. An incredible director. We wanted to share this video in memory of him. Rest in peace Luke, may your new journey be full of light ahead.”
‘Look What You’ve Done’ marks a big milestone for Emeli as the first single she’s self-produced and the second taste of new music from this next chapter in Emeli’s career – an era she describes as a “rebirth” that sees her freeing from the expectations of others, by flexing her holistic skills as a songwriter, producer and vocalist in new ways. ‘Look What You’ve Done’ follows ‘Family’, Emeli’s triumphant first taste of new music in two years.
Breaking onto the U.K scene in 2017, Jaykae is one of the most prominent voices in British rap. Alongside acclaimed singles ‘Moscow’, ‘Toothache’ and more, his meteoric rise has seen him support Skepta, Stormzy and The Streets on tour, come out at one of Drake’s 2019 London shows, and perform stand-out sets at Glastonbury.
On working with Jaykae, Emeli says: “It’s been a true pleasure working with Jaykae and I’m so happy he jumped on the track! His flow, word play and delivery are phenomenal, he’s added something so very special! I hope it makes people fall in love, dream and of course dance!”
