Narrating the bliss and brittleness of romantic turbulence through a soundtrack of cultured pop, George Cosby is emerging as an artist with his own distinct style. That broad appeal has been supported with a Radio 2 playlist as well as further plays from BBC Introducing and Radio 5, while streaming is gaining traction following adds to key Apple Music playlists including New in Pop, New Music Daily and Today’s Easy Hits. His cinematic aesthetic is a core part of his artistry, which he demonstrates by sharing the new video for ‘Lonely Heartbeats’.
The ‘Lonely Heartbeats’ video visualises a romance that teeters on the edge of uncertainty. The lingering looks and There’s an unspoken tension and occasional distance between George and his love interest, but their shared lingering looks suggest that there could be a future together – but are they willing to make that leap? The photography brings those emotions to life, with grainy footage evoking nostalgia for a fondly remembered holiday while the monochrome shots are classically romantic. The video was directed by Candice Lo.
George says, “I was living out in Barcelona this winter and very fortunately for me the brilliant Candice Lo was up for coming over to visit and shoot the ‘Lonely Heartbeats’ visual in town. She has a brilliant eye and frames her work in a way that really resonates with me. I think we managed to encapsulate the song nicely and set the scene of taking that leap of faith in love. I hope you enjoy it.” ‘Lonely Heartbeats’ and the recently released ‘Man On A Road’ will feature on George’s forthcoming second EP. His recent collaborators include Oli Bayston (Loyle Carner, Rachel Chinouriri), the Grammy, BRIT and Ivor Novello nominee Jennifer Decilveo (Anne-Marie, Andra Day’s ‘Rise Up’), and the leading mixer Dan Grech (The Killers, George Ezra).
