EDDIE CHACON RELEASES NEW ALBUM

Eddie Chacon’s new album Lay Low is out today on Stones Throw. Lay Low is entirely produced by Nick Hakim and includes “Good Sun,” which arrived earlier this week, along with the previously shared singles “End of the World,” “Let The Devil In” and “Empire” featuring John Carroll Kirby.

Eddie Chacon is acclaimed for his thoughtful strain of R&B, musing on themes of mortality, failure, and growth. On Lay Low, his third solo album and second on Stones Throw, he delves into the grief that attended the loss of his mother, Patricia. The album was recorded over two years in Nick Hakim’s Brooklyn studio, with Hakim helping build an intuitive framework for Chacon’s songs of love and letting go.

When speaking with MOJO about Lay Low, Eddie said, “I felt ready for the first time to make a record about the grief of losing my mother, the melancholy, sadness and ultimately the healing. I lost my mom nine years ago but the gravity of that was so massive that I couldn’t even fathom it or incorporate it into my work. But working with Nick I started to access the happy memories, the joyful times.”

Tomorrow night, Eddie will mark the release of Lay Low with a performance at The Lodge Room in Los Angeles, followed by a show at Public Records in New York City on February 21st. In March, Eddie will embark on his UK & Europe tour where he’ll perform in London, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Brussels and more.
