Folk Voice Seth Tabatznik shares new single ‘Watching Over Me’

London-born folk artist Seth Tabatznik released his latest single, ‘Watching Over Me’, on 29 October 2026 via Moth Music (Mother Of The Heart). The track follows a string of monthly releases leading up to his forthcoming third album. Earlier this year, Seth released his sophomore album Awakening Embers, which received praise from the likes of NOTION Magazine, CLASH Magazine and EARMILK as well as a remix of his track ‘Shining For Love’ by acclaimed electronic producer Deep Forest.

Despite only beginning his recording career in 2024, Seth has already amassed more than 600,000 streams on Spotify alone, establishing himself as a distinctive emerging voice within the indie folk scene. His growing profile has also extended to the live circuit, with sold-out performances at Boschendal Estate in Cape Town, South Africa, and Green Note in London’s Camden.

Raised in London and now based in the Western Cape mountains of South Africa, Seth’s artistry is deeply rooted in both place and purpose. His acoustic folk and medicine music carries a reverence for the earth, weaving soulful harmonies and heartfelt lyrics with an authenticity that bridges ancient wisdom and modern sound. Mentored by Nick Mulvey, who played a formative role in shaping Awakening Embers, and inspired by his guitar teacher Rainer Scheurenbrand, Seth’s compositions reflect a unique synthesis of guidance, lived experience, and spiritual exploration.

‘Watching Over Me’ opens gently, with reserved acoustic guitar plucks layered beneath sombre pedal steel as Seth Tabatznik’s contemplative vocals enter. The chorus takes a slightly more upbeat turn, introducing tasteful acoustic percussion as a female vocalist joins Seth for a duet. The track continues to build towards its final chorus, blossoming into a kaleidoscope of washed-out guitars and delicate acoustic textures. Despite its nearly six-minute runtime, ‘Watching Over Me’ feels remarkably light on its feet, delivering a heartfelt power ballad sure to resonate with fans of Passenger, Cigarettes After Sex, and Gregory Alan Isakov.

Speaking on the single Seth shared, “Watching Over Me is a love song to an oak tree. It’s about loving someone but never making the time for them. You think about them and they’re part of your day dreams, but in reality the time spent together lives in the future.”
