Julia P. and the Hengles
Just in time for the festive holiday season Julia P. releases the snappy, bouncy “Christmas Is Calling”. Much like her earlier releases recalling the likes of Nancy Sinatra or Leslie Gore, the single zones in on the 60s pop song genre. With a bit of country swing mixed with yuletide cheer, “Christmas Is Calling” compels you to sing along with its uplifting, holiday lyrics. The band provides a solid foundation for her strong voice, while the percussion utilizes bells for that special jingly Christmas sound. Modern music touches abound while you can’t help thinking of a Brenda Lee classic. This is a great tune to ring in the season. Julia P. is a musician from Amsterdam, Holland. Her song “The Long Dark Night of My Soul” dates back to 1993. Since then she’s recorded three albums with a band, the most recent one called Making Up For Last Time. Her most recently released EP is Summer. The song “Big Beach” was featured in the Apple US Hot Tracks and landed on various Spotify playlists.
