NYDTyson
From the thrashing garage rock of “Neanderthal” to the clever pop hooks of “Egg”, NYDTyson deliver a yummy diversity of styles to their latest EP If You’re So Smart, Why Are You So Sad? Humorous and fun, the band explores these styles with a garage band, lofi attitude. My favorites were the songs that slow down the pace, dive deep into introspective lyrics, most notable being “I Think We Both Know”. This mournful relationship tune, anchored by the flowing guitar riffs, soars along with the beautiful, dreamy harmonies. Like the best rock bands (I’m thinking XTC here) they use the pop medium to delve into the confusion and uncertainties of our daily lives.
