With over 1 Billion global streams, AJR kick off 2019 with the release of an undeniable offbeat anthem “100 Bad Days,” out today on Black Butter. Following the huge success of their singles ‘Weak’ (over 375 million streams on Spotify alone), Sober Up and Burn The House Down, the three brothers also announce three exclusive European pop up shows for fans including one at London’s Garage on 13th February.
Underscored by an orchestral hum, slick bass, and heavenly horns, new single “100 Bad Days” slips from memories like, “Remember when we all got drunk, I ended up with two broke thumbs,” into a handclap-driven hypnotic hook, “A hundred bad days made a hundred good stories. A hundred good stories make me interesting at parties.” Sonically, you could liken it to Death Cab For Cutie and Weezer teaming up to score Curb Your Enthusiasm.
“As a band, and as guys in their twenties, most of our experiences end in rejection, failure, and bad days. We wanted to write a realistic look at that… what doesn’t kill you doesn’t always make you stronger. But what doesn’t kill you always makes you more interesting.” -AJR
Comprised of brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met, AJR began their career busking in Central Park. Writing, producing, playing and singing everything themselves, the band have quietly charmed their way to mainstream ubiquity by way of clever, confessional and catchy alternative pop. Their 2017 sophomore LP ‘The Click’ [AJR Productions/S-Curve/BMG] has now earned an RIAA GOLD certification and they are the only new band to have multiple songs on Billboard’s “Top 10 Alternative Songs of 2018.”
Having played Reading and Leeds Festivals, and sold-out shows at London’s Omeara and Electric Ballroom – AJR sold over 100,000 tickets on their Click World Tour in 2018, which wrapped up with a SOLD OUT show at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom in December. With Bottlerock, Bonnaroo and Firefly already confirmed in the US in 2019, tickets for the European pop-up shows in London, Berlin and Amsterdam in February can be purchased from https://www.livenation.co.uk/artist/ajr-tickets
