B*Witched share their new EP ‘Ripped Jeans’

Currently in the middle of a summer tour which has seen them take their infectous energy and feel good vibes to big outdoor shows across the country, including Mighty Hoopla and SuperBoxx, B*Witched today share their new EP ‘Ripped Jeans’. Their first collection of new songs in a decade, the EP is launched alongside the new single ‘So Into You’

‘So Into You’ sets the supercharged dance-pop addictiveness to the max as B*Witched launch a powerful contemporary sound that’s so fresh and full of the vibrancy that they’re renowned for. Set to pulsating beats and fast-driving rock guitars, its energizing sound captures the exhilaration of suddenly being ‘So Into You’. It may well be a quarter of a century (!) since B*Witched first shot to superstardom, but ‘So Into You’ shows that they have lost none of their youthful zest from the first time around.

B*Witched – twin sisters Edele and Keavy Lynch, Lindsay Armaou andSinéad O’Carroll – commented: “We all need a soundtrack to the summer and this is it!”

The B*Witched girls won’t be losing their denim, but are tearing it up a bit with the ‘Ripped Jeans’ EP. Bookended by ‘So Into You’ and last year’s single ‘Birthday’ the ‘Ripped Jeans’ EP welcomes two other brand new tunes from B*Witched. The swooning vocal harmonies and funk bass of ‘Multiply’ maximizes their quirks to bring their cheeky kitsch appeal to climax, while the beautifully haunting ballad ‘My Greatest Little Mistake’ brings a touch of drama and alt-pop inspiration to their sound.

The ‘Ripped Jeans’ EP features collaborators including Mondo-Ray, James Lawton, Emily Andrews and Hamish Brodie, and all songs were co-written by Ray Hedges, the Ivor Novello-winning songwriter who B*Witched worked with on all of their smash hits.

Talking of hits, a quick reminder of everything that B*Witched achieved. They debuted with the unforgettable ‘C’est La Vie’ which was the first in a remarkable run of four consecutive UK #1 hits that continued with ‘Rollercoaster’, ‘To You I Belong’ and ‘Blame It On The Weatherman’. They added another pair of Top 5 hits, first with the all-star tribute mash-up ‘Thank ABBA For The Music’ and then their own song ‘Jesse Hold On’.

The success of their singles also translated into the album charts, with their self-titled debut (#3) and ‘Awake and Breathe’ (#5) both reaching Platinum status and selling more than 5 million copies. They achieved huge success in America also, securing a Billboard top 10 with C’est La Vie, sitting at the top of the sales chart for 8 weeks, and touring alongside N’Sync and Britney Spears. Their popularity extended into the streaming era too, with the tracks on ‘C’est La Vie: The Collection’ amassing 140 million plays at Spotify alone. B*Witched also packed numerous arenashows in the late ‘90s, a level that they returned to in 2013 for The Big Reunion package tour.
