CASSA JACKSON – ‘TURNING POINT’

Possessing an arena-ready vocal talent with the easy-going relatability of the girl next door, Cassa Jackson reaffirms her future star status with the new single ‘Turning Point’. Her recent singles such as ‘Reset Me’ and ‘The Guy I Never Dated’ have signposted that ambition, with Radio 1 Future Pop airplay from Mollie King and a BBC Introducing Track of the Day. So far, Cassa has exceeded 15 million streams – an achievement she has secured entirely as an independent and self-managed musician.

Now celebrating a new-found love, ‘Turning Point’ sees Cassa take us back a few steps in her story. She rewinds her memory to the aftermath of a break-up, a time when she gradually came to realise that the little things that triggered her heartbreak no longer had any effect on her. A serene piano ballad delivered with graceful emotion by Cassa‘Turning Point’ captures the relief that comes when you not only realise that a relationship is over, but feel a flood of relief that you’ve come to terms with it.

Cassa says, “‘Turning Point’ is about realising that you are okay on your own and are finally over a previous relationship. After ‘Reset Me’ celebrated where I’m at in my current ‘happy and healed’ state, I’m now taking listeners through my healing journey story through song!”

Cassa’s recent singles all share different chapters in her journey from heartache to a fresh romance. Rearranging them is a puzzle that uncovers her broader narrative, taking her from acceptance (‘Turning Point’) to craving a new love (‘Parallel Universe’) to the excitement of a new relationship (‘Summer With U’) and realising that connection is blossoming into true love (‘Reset Me’). It’s a story of self-discovery too, and the importance of valuing yourself.

As with ‘Reset Me’Cassa wrote ‘Turning Point’ with her regular collaborator, producer Kevin Malpass (Sia).

Having sold-out her previous London headline show at Omeara, Cassa is now planning a stripped-back solo headline tour which will complement the intimate sound and unguarded emotions of ‘Turning Point’ and ‘Reset Me’. Yet she has two huge scale events on the calendar already – a main stage performance at the Silverstone Festival in the company of Sophie Ellis-BextorBusted and Olly Murs as well as planning to detonate her biggest pop bangers at the global broadcast of Mr Gay World’s grand final. She is no stranger to the biggest of stages, having played just her second gig at Wembley Arena, and, more recently, winning over new converts while on tour with JLS and Blue.

Often compared to  Tate McRaeMaisie PetersJulia Michaels and Miley Cyrus, Cassa is all about authenticity: songs of true stories often inspired by her own diary entries, with visuals and social media both capturing who she truly is rather than attempting to shape any particular image. Her dedication to making her own way in music first saw her combine her artistry with studying for a first class honours degree in French and Spanish (a language she performs in on ‘Tranquilo’) at Bristol University. That work ethic has paid off with rare opportunities, such as a performance on South African breakfast TV and a cameo in sci-fi ‘Pandora’, and bigger recognition with an iHeartRadio award nomination for TikTok Songwriter of the Year.
