2023 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for Charlotte Sands. Having so far won the Heavy Music Award for Best Album, released the genre-blurring ‘Good Now’ EP and toured with PVRIS, Charlotte today shares the new video for the EP’s title track. It follows the recent news that she will play some UK arena shows this October as special guest to 5 Seconds of Summer.
Filmed in Los Angeles, the video provides a striking visual metaphor for the song’s themes. In a waking nightmare, Charlotte’s perception of herself is constantly and uncomfortably shifting. Her mindset drifts from isolation to paranoia and back again, her senses blurring as if her reality has become jet-lagged.
‘Good Now’ is the most advanced sonic departure from an EP which defies easy categorisation. Its songs refuse to be beholden to genre, as Charlotte leaps with full commitment into turbo-charged pop-punk, uncompromising emo, vibrant synth-rock and stripped-back balladeering. Regardless of the sound, the songs are united by the personality of their creator asCharlotte delivers her soul-baring lyrics with unrestrained passion. The topics she explores offer something real and relatable for fans to invest it, providing a connection that’s further amplified by live shows and/or collaborations with an eclectic array of artists such as My Chemical Romance, YUNGBLUD, Charlie Puth, Taking Back Sunday, The Maine, Ava Max and Sleeping With Sirens.
Charlotte’s touring plans continue with upcoming festival sets at Lollapalooza and the Reverb Music Festival. She then tours North America with The Band CAMINO in September before playing across Europe with 5 Seconds of Summer in October.
