Dennis Lloyd RELEASES SPOTIFY SINGLES AUDIOSLAVE’S “LIKE A STONE” FEATURING TOM MORELLO & “AURA”

Multi-platinum international artist Dennis Lloyd partners with Spotify to release Spotify Singles including a stripped-down cover of Audioslave’s “Like A Stone,” which features guitar icon Tom Morello, and “Aura”, off Lloyd’s Exident EP released this spring. Both songs were recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Lloyd’s Spotify Singles drops as he crosses one billion streams across all platforms.

Citing Chris Cornell and Audioslave as important inspirations growing up, Lloyd’s collaboration with Tom Morello is a milestone in more ways than one. Their rendition of “Like A Stone” marks Lloyd’s first artist collaboration, as he writes and produces all of his own music. 

Lloyd explains, “Two of my biggest musical inspirations are Kurt Cobain & Chris Cornell. My song ‘Nevermind’ was named after Nirvana’s album, so when I had to choose a cover for my Spotify Singles session, choosing ‘Like A Stone’ by Audioslave was the natural next choice as I grew up constantly listening to the song. The fact that Tom Morello from Audioslave, who is one of the song’s original writers, agreed to play his legendary guitar solo on my cover is such an honor and literally a dream come true.”

Morello stated, “Dennis Lloyd confided that Audioslaveand especially Chris Cornell’s vocals were very inspiring to him. I’m happy to have joined him on his beautiful cover of ‘Like A Stone.’ He’s a great new artist and has really done justice to the tune.”

Israeli artist Dennis Lloyd released his highly anticipated debut EP, Exident this spring. The lead single, “Never Go Back”, landed on Spotify’s sought-after playlist, Today’s Top Hits, and to date, Lloyd has over 9 million monthly listeners on the platform. TIME Magazine praised “Never Go Back” as an “equally alluring follow up”to Lloyd’s global smash, “Nevermind”.  In addition, Forbes proclaimed, “Lloyd creatively blends the elements of pop, R&B, rock and reggae, breaking global boundaries in addition to crossing them.” Lloyd recently traveled the world on the sold-out ‘Never Go Back Tour,’ with highlights including show-stopping sets at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, New York City’s Governor’s Ball, and Dover, DE’s Firefly Festival.
