EMELI SANDÉ SHARES THE NEW SINGLE ‘ALL THIS LOVE’

Emeli Sandé heightens the anticipation for the November 17th release of her new album ‘How Were We To Know’ by unveiling the new single ‘All This Love’. Together with album’s lead single ‘There For You’ and its title track, the three songs show that ‘How Were We To Know’ will see Emeli’s ability to inspire hope, optimism and empowerment through a timeless songbook continue to reach new heights.

The skeletal beats that herald the opening of ‘All This Love’ hint at an unlikely glitch-pop direction, but the song soon unfolded with everything fans have come to love Emeli for: the drama, the imposing hooks, the rousing gospel vocal harmonies and – of course – that distinctive world class vocal gift. It’s a song which sees Emeli question how to direct an excess of love when that passion is left unrequited. Yet it also possesses a universal touch that goes beyond just romance: in this case, what applies to love is also reflective of those other moments in life where we give so much of ourselves and receive little in return.

Emeli says, “If we go through heartbreak, or experience unrequited love, we can end up channelling it in more destructive ways. I’m very much an all-or-nothing person, so after a relationship ends, I’m like, ‘What am I supposed to do with all this love?’ We have so much energy, so much love as human beings that if it isn’t being expelled in the right way, we’re stressed, and we’re anxious.”

Emeli wrote ‘All This Love’ with producer duo Mac & Phil, her collaborators on her acclaimed 2016 album ‘Love Live The Angels’, which peaked at #2 on the Official Album Chart.

The accompanying ‘All This Love’ video reunites Emeli with the team that made the recent video for ‘How Were We To Know’ such a memorable experience: Iona Magnus (Creative Director / Producer), Tom Stoddart (Director) and Keidrych Wasley (Director of Photography). Filmed in Stokesay Court, an historic mansion in Shropshire, this is a grander affair which sees Emeli outpouring the song’s emotional conflict with a thrillingly physical performance.

Emeli plays a headline show at the Royal Festival Hall on November 11th as part of the EFG Jazz Festival London, andMagic Radio’s Magic at Christmas extravaganza at the London Palladium on November 25th alongside Rick Astley, Simply Red and Texas.
