FIAA HAMILTON SHARES HER SECOND SINGLE ‘RIVERS IN THE NIGHT’

Fiaa Hamilton’s recent debut single ‘Love War’ set the stage for her to become Britain’s next pop sensation. Supported by BBC Introducing and press tastemakers, the track was especially impactful at TikTok. It shot to #8 on the platform’s Pop Hits chart, while Fiaa was also named as one of just two musicians on the UK’s Top 20 TikTok LIVE creators at theCommunity Fest and won their Breakthrough Star award.

But Fiaa’s not getting complacent and is instead powering towards her next stage with today’s release of her second single‘Rivers In The Night’. It’s a song that sees Fiaa saunter with characteristic self-confidence and empowerment as she writes her own future, this time fusing pulsating electro-pop with a voice of arena-ready quality, all with an undertone of country swagger. Its message is direct: always be brave enough to take a gamble which edge you a step closer to your towering ambitions.

Fiaa says, “As the song says, ‘Shoot in the dark and take a chance on your heart’. It means when things are dark and scary, jump to your dreams – don’t hold back because of fear.”

As an entirely independent artist, Fiaa moved quickly to bring ‘Rivers In The Night’ to life. She wrote and produced the song with Nick Sheldon (Becky Hill), Poppy FisherRAHH (Joel Corry), Jordan Cosmo (CHINCHILLA) and Gio Malone at Defected Records’ studio in London on a Friday before sharing teasers with fans the following day. Within 24 hours the reaction had been so overwhelmingly positive that on the Sunday she booked a flight to Nashville to film the music video, which was wrapped by Tuesday. Life moves pretty fast sometimes, and if you don’t make the most of the moment you can easily miss out on something special.

Fiaa describes herself as the storyteller, which is a quality that beams throughout all of her lyrics – from good times to bad and often experienced first-hand Fiaa’s songs capture the truth of every mood and emotion. It’s a skill that reflects her admiration for great singer-songwriters such as Lana Del Ray and Amy Winehouse. She excels with live moments too, such as her daily TikTok LIVE series (show times: 12:12 and 21:21), a sold-out night at Notting Hill Arts Club, and a set at Tottenham Hotspur to showcase JBL Professional audio tech.

While she is flourishing now, Fiaa’s childhood took a tougher route through the foster care system before discovering that music offered her a creative outlet that was different to anything else in her life. She studied at The Academy of Contemporary Music and led music projects for children in care before her first opportunity came as part of a girl band. They enjoyed some big moments, but it wasn’t meant to be. But fate offered a second chance when her friend spotted Rag’n’ Bone Man at a bar and pitched Fiaa as an artist he should really work with. It paid off, leading to the release of the charity collab ‘One Day’Fiaa was on the way up – and there has been no distracting her from that rise ever since.
