FOXES REVEALS ‘FRIENDS IN THE CORNER’ SINGLE & VIDEO

UK artist and songwriter Foxes returns today with the release of “Friends In The Corner,” her third single since returning from a game changing three year hiatus—out now via [PIAS] Recordings. “Friends In The Corner” is both irresistibly danceable and emotionally charged, as it narrates the fragility and often, hidden nature of mental health, and the vulnerability and internal battles everyone goes through.

Speaking about the new song, Foxes reveals: “It was a weekend away with a close group of friends and I considered them to be strong and together, but for some reason at that time they all showed a vulnerable side I’d never seen before. It might have been the age we were at, but everyone’s hidden struggles came to the forefront and it made me realise the older we get sometimes the more fragile we become. It really hit home that we shouldn’t take each other for granted and we’ve really got to look out for our friends. It’s becoming more and more apparent that we all suffer from mental health issues on some level and at different times in our lives. There really shouldn’t be any stigma around this anymore. We’re all in it together.”

The accompanying video features a cameo appearance from Foxes as a tattoo artist, and was written and directed by Joshua Triggand stars Zara Gabiddon and Natasha Trigg as two friends on a Thelma and Louise style roadtrip, with scenes of pure joy and freedom – the world at their fingertips – interlaced with poignant reality of tougher times in the shadow of even the best of times, and the grief of losing a friend.

Propelled into the industry at just 19, Foxes (real name Louisa Rose Allen) was at the forefront of pop with her critically acclaimed debut album Glorious, and a GRAMMY Award winning collaboration with EDM giant Zedd for ‘Clarity.’ In 2017, Foxes decided to press pause and focus on connecting with herself. During that time, she’s been working on writing and recording and is now ready to return to the musical arena with “Friends In The Corner,” “Woman” and “Love Not Loving You” before it, marking her foray back into the limelight.
