HOLLY RIVA TEAMS UP WITH THE SMITHS’ CRAIG GANNON ON DEBUT EP ‘A MEMORY’

Australian pop artist Holly Riva is set to release her debut EP ‘A Memory’ via Alchemy Records on the 12th of August, accompanied by a music video for the title track.

Holly grew up in the UK, India, and Australia. When she was eight Holly took to the main stage at a charity concert, singing to a wildly cheering Calcutta audience of 3000. “It was at this moment I realised what I wanted to do for the rest of my life,” Holly says.

In 2015, in what she describes as “an act of great good fortune and circumstance”, Holly first met Bill Kimber, the man who would become her manager. Kimber, a music industry veteran and former head of A&R at RCA UK immediately recognised her potential and put into place a long-term artist development plan in which Holly worked tirelessly and with great dedication to develop and perfect what we believe is her own unique brand of songwriting and performing talent.

The result? ‘A Memory’, a mesmerising three-track debut EP via Alchemy Records, a brand-new indie label, distributed by Nova Distribution/Universal in the UK. Produced and co-written with James Birt, one of the UK’s finest young songwriters. Release date: August 12th. Holly says ‘A Memory’ “is a letting go song, it’s about moving on from the anger and pain of a relationship going nowhere. It’s about finally seeing why that person came into your life and having the strength to move on.”

The EP’s other two tracks ‘Hear Me’ (produced and co-written with The Smith’s Craig Gannon.) and ‘I’ll Help You Find It’, (produced and co-written with Jamie Duffin, son of legendary guitarist Graeme Duffin of Wet Wet Wet) provide two more compelling reasons to applaud the arrival of a major new artist.
