Following from the success of his 2018 releases ‘Hard Times and ‘Elijah’, featuring Jay Prince and Laura Mvula and his 2020 EP ‘Lazarus’ which gained the attention of Colors, Clash Magazine, Complex, Lyrical Lemonade and Mixtape Madness. House of EL is showing no signs of slowing his momentum with this latest release oozing optimism and tenacity.
‘Push On’ sees House of EL share an infectious tale of perseverance, backed by a smooth drum groove, anthemic trumpets and a jazzy guitar lick. Inspired by the resilience of his grandparents who immigrated to the UK and the tenacity of the black people that have followed since despite the treatment they’ve received, House of EL presents one of his most direct releases yet and sets the bar for his upcoming EP.
Speaking on the new single, House of EL explains: “’Black people are the most resilient people on earth!… we have had to be, seeing what my grandparents and great grandparents went through as immigrants to the UK, seeing what Black women still go through to this day across the world not to mention across the world inspired me to write this song.
This song is a message that says no what you’re going through keep going and never quit and I hope that comes across no matter who listens. I always want to try and uplift people in my music and make you feel something. If that happens then it’s job done…”
