Usually a snapshot of the past, James Morrison’s new ‘Greatest Hits’ album celebrates where he’s come from, where he’s now at, and what comes next. The album is out now and coincides with the 15th anniversary of James winning the BRIT Award for British Male Solo Artist.
The ‘Greatest Hits’ album is full of refreshed versions of the big moments and all-time favourites from James Morrison’shugely successful back catalogue. Those songs – ‘Broken Strings’, ‘You Give Me Something’, ‘I Won’t Let You Go’ and more – are now presented closer in spirit to how you would hear them at a current live show. Their heart remains unchanged, but each song now flows with the tightness and groove from his seasoned band. And as James and his fans have all lived through so many of the experiences that he sings of, the tender rasp of his voice feels more relevant than ever.
What’s more, two brand new songs show that James continues to evolve as an artist. That’s particularly true of the album’s lead single ‘Who’s Gonna Love Me Now?’, which spent four weeks on Radio 2’s B-list, accumulated 1000 plays at UK radio, and hit a wealth of major playlists at Spotify (14 international New Music Fridays) and Apple Music (Breaking Pop, Feeling Good and Everyday Hits). He then performed his latest track ‘Don’t Mess With Love’ on ‘The Graham Norton Show’.
