Luke Buck – “All These Things”

 

 

Luke Buck is a multi-instrumental singer/songwriter out of New York City. Having been heavily influenced by 90s Alternative Rock bands like Counting Crows, Radiohead, and Weezer, the concept that ‘simple is complex’ permeates throughout his music. His first EP “Dark Matter” was a raw emotional journey of coping with a long-term break-up in today’s age of social media and instant gratification, all the while finding some dark humor in the sadness. Luke’s follow-up EP “All These Things” deals with the aftermath of our emotions, focusing more inward than out. With the help of producer Ben Rice from Degraw Sound this release has aptly been called “a rollercoaster fit of reflection & celebration”.  

All These Things, Luke Buck’s second studio EP, is for anyone who has had to crawl out of the wreckage of a bad relationship and tried desperately to find a new normal. With raw emotional growls reminiscent of beloved ’90s alternative rock bands such as the Counting Crows, Black Crows and Pearl Jam, 34-year-old Buck sings about reuniting with once-forbidden female friends, comparing love to a cross-country road trip (and not making it past Colorado)— and being jolted back to the realities of life by another friend’s suicide. A multi-instrumentalist as well as a vocalist, Buck plays piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass and Rhodes piano on All These Things. His music—always intense but never overwrought—has aptly been called, “A rollercoaster fit of reflection & celebration.”

Additionally, Luke has also released two live EP/videos with his band’s name Luke Buck and the Stops Here in a series called Live at Degraw Sound with “Live at Degraw Sound: the DARK MATTER session” and “Live at Degraw Sound: the All These Things session” having been released shortly after each studio EP.  

Luke is currently in pre-production for his anticipated third EP entitled “The Way I Am” to be released late 2018/ early 2019. He currently lives in Brooklyn, NY with his two dogs, Maddie and Lola.
