Temptress, by Sydney-sider, Max C Bud, is the debut single from this talented new solo artist. Produced by Indie favourite – Boo Seeka’s Sam Croft – the pair have been working together in recent months, creating a new sound for Max’stypically acoustic style.
Indie-folk-pop fans will love Temptress. Honest and thoughtful lyrics are accompanied by smooth synth and Max’s guitar for a relaxed, mellow and unique sound. Think The War on Drugs meets Paul Dempsey and a little of the DMA’s.
“I wrote Temptress during a confronting time in my life. It’s about dealing with an issue head-on and being honest with someone about a troubled relationship that couldn’t be changed”, says Max.
Max has played music for the last 20 years, but this is his first project as a solo artist. He first started writing music during his formative years on the NSW North Coast, where he was surrounded by talented, creative people who inspired him.
“Music has always been my personal creative outlet, but working with Croft on this track, allowed me to interpret my music in a new way”, commented Max.
“Every lyric has purpose and in the studio Max was dedicated to making sure every melody was delivered just as he wanted. It’s a unique sound, largely due to Max’s smooth, yet rustic voice and the poppy yet edgy tune”, said Croft.
