After playing a completely sold out show at New York City’s legendary Madison Square Garden, Mt. Joy are back with another rousing single, an upbeat dance number titled “She Wants to Go Dancing”. The band have had an incredible few weeks, having released a new version of their anthemic “Highway Queen” featuring Maren Morris, and surprising fans at the Madison Square Garden show with special appearances by Maren Morris and violinist Lindsey Sterling.
The release of “She Wants to Go Dancing” comes at the exact perfect time, when Mt. Joy previewed the song at their tour dates, it was met with instant enthusiasm for the disco tinged beat and bouncy melody. Previous singles “Highway Queen”, “Lemon Tree” and “Silver Lining” all charted at radio; “Highway Queen” reaching top 5 and the others topping the charts at number one at AAA radio.
Mt. Joy just wrapped up an incredible string of sold-out headlining shows across North America, including stops in Philadelphia, Nashville, Chicago, and festival stops at Bourbon & Beyond, and Oceans Calling. The band were proud to partner with Headcount, a non-partisan voter registration education initiative who set up tables at the band’s shows and encouraged fans to register to vote.
This summer saw the Philadelphia five-piece headline shows at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Red Rocks Amphitheater, as well as two shared headlining shows at Fenway Park with Noah Kahan. The band’s undeniable musical prowess, live musicianship, and stage presence are steadily catapulting them to become household names, as they fast become one of America’s most beloved live bands.
