Guiding us into the autumnal months with her warming neo-soul singles, Nápoles shares her 6-track EP “Cloud 9”
The project follows on from singles “Know My Place”, “Give It Up” and “4 In The Morning”, three effortlessly cool releases that together have amassed just shy of 1 million streams. As an entity, the project is eloquently cohesive with each track harmoniously blending into each other almost as though connected by gently brushing fingertips.
“Cloud 9” is Nápoles first full project since her 2020 debut EP “Slowin It” which in a very short time gained support from several key tastemaker platforms such as Complex UK, BBC1Extra – as well as incredibly receiving a Swedish Grammy nomination in the category best R&B / Soul.
“Cloud 9” see’s not only a sonic progression but also a personal one from Nápoles debut. “Slowin’ It” was a project that offered Nápoles the opportunity to explore, meanwhile, enjoying the process of refining her final sound, “my main focus was to have fun with it and experiment on who I am as an artist”. Taking a less playful approach, “Cloud 9” offers a more intimate experience with the aid of key collaborator, her producer Wahib, “me and Wahib are on the same page when it comes to what we want and the music that we are creating. To have a collaboration with a producer like this is ideal to me and something that I truly cherish for the time being”, Nápoles explains.
Speaking on the project, Nápoles explains; “To me, “Cloud 9” means otherworldly. It is another realm and frequency where everything is possible. “Cloud 9” is my world, lifestyle and I want to take my listeners there. I want them to dream away with the help of sweet melodies and sounds. I want them to recharge whenever they experience the project. It’s truly an elevation of what I want to pursue musically, and I want to bring my listeners in on the journey I’m on. It’s a cohesive EP with different sides of me as an artist.”
The final singles to join the public listening include “I Wish You Knew” – the opening track of the project, the mood setter, “Lime and Honey”, a dedication to those closest to her – a track about “deep and true connections” and “I Been Up”, a single that see’s Nápoles look introspectively and vouching that only by doing that can you grow and achieve.
