The Third and final single from Nate Kohrs upcoming album ‘The Nineteen’ is out. Check out the video directed by the hyper-talented Dana Marie Newell.
Artist originally from New York, now based in LA. This music was composed and recorded while living in Melbourne, Australia.
Nate Kohrs is a young up & coming Indie Musician/Composer/Producer who has already worked with the likes of Mark Ronson, Philip Glass, and many more. Some of his work so far has been heard worldwide on Netflix, in Film theatres, and on indie Radios.
Nate‘s music is electronic, ambient, and dynamic.
He utilizes both electronic and acoustic instruments then warps them into submission and holds them together with duct tape, glue and a driving beat.
With the upcoming full length release The Nineteen, Kohrs creates his own mythologogy…something otherwordly yet anchored in its time.
Don’t expect your usual Electronic album, Nate is first and foremost a true indie composer who enjoys breaking boundaries of fixed musical genres.
Nate Kohrs began his career in New York where he honed his musical craft in the city’s vibrant recording studio community, collaborating with artists as diverse and wide ranging as Mark Ronson, Philip Glass, Stuart Price, Kylie Minogue, and Jason Derulo just to name a few.
After producing and cowriting several albums for indie artists, Nate‘s passion for combining music and picture led him to pursue film composition. He quickly gained notice in the New York film community and, in 2015 was commissioned to score the Netflix documentary, CT Fletcher: My Magnificent Obsession.
In 2017 Nate again teamed up with director/producer Vlad Yudin (Generation Iron 1,2 and 3, Last Day of Summer) on the international UFC film The Hurt Business featuring Kevin Costner.
The same year, Friday Night Epitaph, French DIY indiepop/rock/ underground singer-songwriter Cyclope Espion‘s debut album, recorded (in one take) and produced by Nate Kohrs in an empty Harlem apartment, was voted one of the 10 Best indie records of the year by music critic Lisa Whealey in the USA, and found it’s way on the official playlist of the MoMa (Museum of Modern Art) in NYC. Cyclope Espion got very ecclectically compared to Lloyd Cole, Bob Dylan,Joey Ramone, Pete Doherty, The Cure, Counting Crows, Michael Stipe, Johnny Rotten, John Lennon… just to name a few (Cyclope Espion is also available on 201a Records).
While spending time in Australia working on various projects, Nate Kohrs began a series of electronic works that would eventually form the basis for his upcoming debut solo release, The Nineteen. Now a resident of Los Angeles, Nate is opening his own music studio “Eko Lab Music Studio” in the heart of LA’s art district on June 7th.
