Saib Shares “Sunset Drive” From Upcoming Album 

Berlin-based, Casablancan beatmaker Saib is back for 2022 with a brand new 13-track LP, entitled “Under The Stars”. The album features solo tracks and collaborations with key figures of the beats and lofi hip hop scene, including Tom Doolie, Bluestaeb, Flofilz, Cap Kendricks and Leaf Beach. His latest single, “Sunset Drive”, is due for release on February 10th via Hip Dozer.

Over the last five years, Saib’s focused efforts have amounted to the release of 7 albums and a dozen EPs and singles. This has awarded him an online audience of more than 150,000 fans and the accumulation of more than 400 million streams with music being released on Blue Note, Chillhop, JakartaRecords and more.

Addressing the rationale for the album, Saib explains: “with “Under The Stars”, I stay committed to diversifying my musical palette and inspiration sources. The release is a musical journey that will accompany the listener throughout the day, ranging from early morning relaxed grooves, lush melodies to jazzy four on the floor beats you’d hear in a lounge.”

Saib started his career in the early 2010s by posting his productions on SoundCloud that he crafted from his bedroom in Morocco. His insatiable desire to create stems from his childhood. Passionate about bossa nova, Japanese anime soundtracks and jazz as well as old school hip-hop, he draws his inspiration from Yoko Kanno, Joe Pass, Pete Rock and Nujabes. Naturally his tastes pushed him to learn guitar and production, bathing in the cosmopolitan culture of Casablanca, a melting pot at the crossroads of the two African and European continents. This diversity is a constant in the beatmaker’s music, where groove and melody are skillfully mixed in a style inspired by the classic hip hop productions of the 90s.
