Sheila and the Kit
Dutch synthpop band Sheila and the Kit favor us with their second release “Next 2 U”. This tasty little tune combines an 80s pop song feel with smart, incisive lyrics. Speaking of the cohesiveness of outsiders within the world of cliques, Suzanne Kipping’s voice sparkles with charm and power, while the band delivers a danceable melody. As a follow-up to their debut single “Homeschool Sweethearts”, this song makes us hungry for a full album release. Sharp, crisp production as well as clever songwriting allow this single to stand out from other pop offerings. In the recent world of techno pop, there sometimes just isn’t enough fun, but this band remedies that situation in a vibrant, unique way.
