St. Lundi made a big introduction when his voice graced hits from Kygo (‘To Die For’) and Seeb (‘Colourblind’) as those two songs exceeded 50 million streams. His solo career was soon flying too as he amassed another 50 million+ streams for his breakthrough ‘Nights Like These’, before his recent single ‘Ready To Be Loved’ was playlisted on Radio 2 assisted by early support from Zoe Ball and Scott Mills. Now St. Lundi is set to match that positive momentum as he shares the new single ‘Fall’.
The immediately anthemic ‘Fall’ is propelled by indie-folk acoustic guitars, propulsive live drums and a soaring holler-along hook that provides an addictive pop edge. The song’s positivity comes from a powerful, personal emotional place for St. Lundi, who wrote the song as an enduring message of support for his brother. And yet as personal as it is, it’s also a song that people can relate to so many different situations and relationships, if they too vow to promise: “You know I would drive through the middle of the night if you said you were scared.”
St.Lundi says, “I wrote ‘Fall’ for my brother. We were always there for each other growing up – we’d talk about our grazed knees through falling over in the playground and give advice on crushes at school, brotherly support was just a bedroom door away! As we’ve grown older, we’ve grown apart and in recent years he’s been going through some hard times. I wrote this song as a way of letting him know I’ll always be there, no matter what obstacle we have to overcome!”
St. Lundi wrote ‘Fall’ with Ollie Green (Tom Grennan, Gavin James) and the indie-pop band Tors who recently released their ‘Anything Can Happen’ EP ahead of a tour with Sam Ryder. It was produced by Matt James (Tom Gregory).
The song’s wider themes of never forgetting your roots is reflected in St. Lundi’s current social media presence, which sees him visiting key landmarks from his life in his original home of Hayling Island as well as just across the bay in Portsmouth. Later this summer he will play a special homecoming set when he performs at the city’s Victorious Festival on August 27th.
Although St.Lundi is a relative newcomer, he has gained extensive experience on the big stage following shows with Kodaline, Justin Jesso, Tom Gregory, Jeremy Loops and ClockClock, plus The Great Escape and Reeperbahn festivals. His debut European headline tour last year culminated with a London show at Lower Third.
