On March 14, 2025 the dreamy indie band VELVET MOON will be unveiling a live EP of their performance at the iconic Brinova Arena, in Karlskrona, Sweden, at the end of December 2024 titled In The Moment With VELVET MOON. The EP is being released on the Argle Bargle Studios imprint and will spotlight their 2020 hit ‘Catch The Wave’Boasting 15 million streams across platforms, the group’s first three albums earned them global recognition. VELVET MOON‘s music has also become a favourite among vloggers and has been featured in TV commercials for brands like Kappahl and Bollinger in Sweden, as well as gracing stages such as that of The Great Escape festival 2024. Their timeless sound has garnered support from tastemaker publications CLASH Magazine and METAL magazine and attracted a fanbase that is both diverse and multi-generational. Their recently released haunting pop-rock track, ‘The Hour of King Kong’ and synth-pop anthem ‘A Love Song’ as well as the captivating ‘Hymn’ and ‘Daylight’ offer listeners a taste of their forthcoming album Endless War In The Summer, slated for release in April 2025.

The Stockholm band have built up a catalogue of deeply intimate and evocative songs. Sandra  Bjurman, the band’s lyricist and vocalist, draws directly from her everyday experiences while reflecting on broader societal and global issues. The musical landscapes crafted by producers Stefan Örn and Johan Glössner perfectly complement Sandra’s storytelling, allowing listeners to journey through a spectrum of rich colours and powerful feelings. Influenced by War on Drugs, Joni Mitchell and Rycooder, the band’s current sound is reminiscent of dream pop icons in the league of 1980s Fleetwood Mac, Men I Trust, The Last Dinner Party and even the sultry surf moodscapes of La Luz.

‘Catch The Wave’ is deliciously dreamy and schmaltzy, with saccharine strings, shimmery surfy guitar, and Sanda’s impassioned and brooding vocals soaring with their resplendent soulful delivery. The track is fit for a climactic moonlit beach scene, oozing with cinematic levels of tension and tenderness. The live version emanates a restlessness and fervor that a studio recording, while gorgeously hypnotic, could never capture – the electricity of VELVET MOON’s artistry as both musicians and performers is palpable in this listen. This is true of the entire live EP, which treats the listeners to a collection of songs from their swoonworthy discography performed with both passion and finesse.

The trio shared: “‘Catch The Wave’ by VELVET MOON is a haunting reflection on modern disconnection, blending dreamy indie-pop with poignant lyricism. The song critiques a world lacking compassion, where fake news and emotional detachment leave people searching for meaning. Through hypnotic melodies and urgent pleas for help, it captures the struggle for genuine connection and the desire to break free from apathy. A deeply introspective track that resonates with the challenges of today’s society.”
