Cologne based indie four-piece Xul Zolar return with the ‘Perfume’ single and video released on July 12th via Asmara Records, a label co-founded by the band and their management.
Since forming in 2011, Xul Zolar have gained recognition for their captivating sound and live presence, including performances at major European festivals Dockville, c/o Pop, Immergut and Incubate, as well as support shows and tours with the likes of Battles, Future Islands, Balthazar and SOHN. Having honed their craft, they have earned the label of being one of the most promising acts to come out of Germany in recent years.
The ‘Perfume’ single, to be released on July 12th, is the first of three tracks on the ‘Nightfalls’ EP which drops in late-August 2019. Featuring nods to greats such as The Smiths and Talking Heads, ‘Perfume’ is an instant classic. Catchy melodies and punchy drums meet gritty nostalgia in Ronald Röttel’s vocals, contrasted by haunting visuals from artist/filmmaker Stee Van Stark.
In support of the ‘Nightfalls’ EP, Xul Zolar will be taking their live show to the road with dates throughout Germany, listed below.
