Genre-blending duo Yuphoric are back with a vibey new offering “Red Like Wine”, returning to the winning formula with friends and collaborators Mike Nasa and MERON.
The instrumental, created around a laid-back beat, captures a classical hip-hop mood that allows Meron’s voice to ooze over the top. Nasa’s verses are impeccable in their delivery, intertwining with Meron’s before going off on it’s own – an effortless interplaying of vocal styles.
“Red Like Wine” is about the duality of life. A good bottle of red wine can pair amazingly with some meals but not so much a new cream sofa. A beautiful moment can blow up spectacularly in our faces without warning. In the same vein, relationships can see the pendulum swing drastically, and when people get heated, their faces tend to take on a reddish hue similar to sangria. – Mike Nasa
RLW narrates the dynamics between lovers in the early stages. To me “blushing” doesn’t happen that often with people you’ve grown familiar with, unlike with new lovers. I wanted to capture the feeling of seeing someone special genuinely blush – MERON
Yuphoric’s upcoming debut album “The New Normal” is a mix of genres and sounds – from face melting drums, to cinematic instrumentals. The album features a slew of collaborators – artists that each bring their own influences to the table creating a wide spectrum of styles in the album.
