The New York City-based rock band, Zr. King brings an old school hard yet smooth rock vibe with their latest album “Musically & Morally Bankrupt.” The album premiered on Idobi Radio May 17 and brings a sound resembling the great Alice in Chains and “Slow Ride” creators, Foghat.
The group starts off the album with a metal track “Welcome To Bearizona.” The kick off track brings a classic rock, easy listen sound. The number two track “Don’t Call Me On Saturday” brings a pleasing, upbeat, hard rock sound which features passionate and dramatic vocals.
Track three, “Edgebot Planet” starts off with a futuristic rock beat and transitions into a mild track with edgy beats. The track brings passionate, doubtful lyrics and a magical, electric guitar solo.
Up next, a softer track, “At A Distance,” explores a happy medium between hard and soft rock. This song brings deep lyrics and real feelings. The number five track “Ships In The Night” lightens the mood with a jamming beat and an escalating tempo.
“Telamon” starts off with the bangs of a drum set and a smooth electric guitar. This track brings straining vocals and metaphoric lyrics. Zr. King then come in with a bonus track “Put Out,” a cover from Baby Strange. The cover puts a metal twist on the track. The last track, also a bonus track cover, “Seen A Ghost” shows off dramatic back up vocals and the band’s ability to adjust to different rock styles.
Overall the rock band brings the jams and demonstrates a soft yet heavy rock vibe perfect for the ones, like me, who get anxiety from metal. The easy listen album, “Musically & Morally Bankrupt” can be found on all music platforms. To keep up with Zr. King, you can follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
