Globally acclaimed, award winning solo musician, Lucy Gallant, is strumming riffs throughout international scenes with her well-honed song writing, enchanting vocals, earnest storytelling and infectious rhythms. In a fortuitous series of events, Lucy Gallant will be launching her album Darkness To Light upon the stages of Australia’s Byron Bay Blues Fest. The lead single Not Normal an exuberant declaration to live a life connected to the natural world in search of the beauty’s various forms, free from digital distraction.
Gallant is excited to release her eagerly awaited self produced single Not Normal. The music on this track is an exotic cocktail of upbeat acoustic instruments and spacious electronica, with Gallant’s vocals sharing similarities to the great Amy Winehouse and sharing in the worldly charm of Manu Chao.
In 2017, a video of her singing Not Normal live on London’s Portobello Road went viral, with over 1.8 million views. Thousands of people sought a copy of the song, but Gallant had not yet recorded it. This inspired her to record not only that song, but to produce an entire album. And so, Darkness to Light was born, an album that dances across the earth’s spectrum of colour and texture. With more than
1,000 personally written songs in her arsenal, the British born multi-instrumentalist is well known for instinctively fusing genres to produce her own eclectic sound.
The singer-songwriter and producer has captivated audiences at nearly every major festival, including Byron Bay Bluesfest, Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Woodford Folk Festival in Australia, Art Basel in the U.S.A and the U.K’s iconic Glastonbury Festival. She has been invited to LA to film the music video for Not Normal. It will be shot by Robert Reed Altman who is well respected in Hollywood and has worked on many great television programs and movies like Lost and Bones as Director and Head of Photography.
