Overflowing with glaring guitar chords and the distinct vocals of Stef Pesic, ‘Call Me’ is the latest indie-rock addition to his genre-hopping repertoire. Fusing firm guitar strums with an unrelenting grunge backbeat, ‘Call Me’ glimmers hope of an indie resurgence with a completely refreshed perspective. Unlike the noughties thrashy guitar-laden home for teenage angst, ‘Call Me’ is driven by Pesic’s playful nonchalance and colloquial lyricism bedded on lofi-production, veering him into his very own realm of indie- hip-pop. Yet still carrying themes of angst, the track confronts the frustrations of the lower- classes and the strife of breaking the benefit system and entering into the working, employed world.
