Sophia Galaté is a singer-songwriter whose rich, velvety voice and emotionally incisive songwriting have earned her a devoted international audience. Blending R&B, soul, and pop, she creates music that feels both timeless and unmistakably modern, pairing intimate storytelling with lush melodies, infectious grooves, and undeniable vocal power.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Sophia developed a deep appreciation for classic soul and singer-songwriter traditions from an early age. Her music draws from those influences while embracing a contemporary sensibility, creating a sound that is soulful, sophisticated, playful, and deeply human. Whether capturing the exhilaration of new love, the complexities of heartbreak, or the confidence that comes with choosing yourself, Sophia’s songs invite listeners into moments of honesty, vulnerability, and self-discovery.
Her latest release revisits one of the standout tracks from her recent album For My Own Entertainment. Originally recorded as a duet with rising R&B artist Dende, “Just For A Moment” returns in two new forms: an intimate acoustic version and a live recording captured during Sophia’s recent sold-out show in Los Angeles. Stripped back and emotionally direct, the new recordings place the spotlight firmly on the song’s heartfelt message and the chemistry between the two vocalists.
Written during a spontaneous studio session in Los Angeles, the song explores the beauty of fleeting connections and the value of love, even when it doesn’t last forever. As Sophia explains, “So often, we spend time loving someone and when it doesn’t work out, we convince ourselves that it was a waste. But love is never wasted. There is something beautiful about sharing a meaningful connection with another person, regardless of where it leads.”
She adds: “This song is about appreciating the present moment of being in love and recognizing how special that experience is, even if you’re not meant to end up together in the end.”
Sophia has built a loyal international following through both her recorded music and captivating live performances. She has toured throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, selling out headline shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and London. Along the way, she has shared stages with artists including JoJo, Olivia Dean, James Vickery, Kenyon Dixon, Gene Noble, Rozzi, Son Little, Naomi Sharon, Loony, and Soulection.
Her music has been featured on billboards in Times Square and supported by major editorial playlists across Spotify, Apple Music, and TIDAL, including Spotify’s Fresh Finds and R&B Rising. She has also collaborated with the acclaimed Los Angeles collective Katalyst on a live album that showcased her dynamic musicianship and ability to bring new life to her songs through live performance.
With a commanding voice, magnetic stage presence, and an ever-evolving artistic vision, Sophia Galaté continues to establish herself as one of the most compelling artists in modern soul and pop.
