ARUBA RED ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM ‘LATENT ECHO’ TO BE RELEASED ON OCTOBER 30TH

Known for collaborations with artists such as Nitin SawhneyPlan BRiz Ahmed and Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music), the London-based alt-soul artist Aruba Red is now set to excel in her own right with her new album ‘Latent Echo’. Physical formats of the record will be released on October 30th, with its digital release following on December 24th. She launches the album alongside the new single ‘Kalliope’, with further new tracks dropping on each full moon for the remainder of 2026.

With ‘Latent Echo’Aruba Red has created an album of cosmic soul to heal your heart. Its themes reflect intense personal experiences (including the aftermath of spending a decade in a relationship of coercive control, struggles with endometriosis, POTS and chronic pain) through to mystical explorations and fairytale imagery – all of which captures the empowerment, healing and resilience that came as she conquered her struggles.

Aruba Red’s idiosyncratic, fragile and spiritual vocal is the pulse of its music, which sweeps a boundary-expanding fusion between leftfield pop, sparse pastoral folk and jazz-tinged flourishes. She wrote and produced the album alongside her key collaborators, the Ivor Novello winner Renell Shaw (Speech DebelleRudimental) and Camilo Tirado (Talvin SinghYoko Ono).

Aruba Red says, “After being unwell for so long I’m really thankful to be able to return to making and sharing my music again. Creating ‘Latent Echo’, eight songs in eight days, was such a healing and hopeful experience. Releasing a new song on each full moon feels so grounding and I’m really excited to share this new music with the world.”

After previously revealing the album with ‘Lilac Glycerine’Aruba Red now beckons newcomers into her creative universe with the new single ‘Kalliope’. Both meditative and uplifting, ‘Kalliope’ drifts like a daydream – an almost hymnal tapestry of influences from world music and jazz that builds into a song that engages the more experimental outskirts of the alt-pop world.

She adds, “Kalliope (or Calliope) was the Greek muse of poetry and eloquence. She was recognised as the eldest and wisest of the nine muses, daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne. Often called the ‘Chief of Muses’, she symbolises creativity and is depicted with a writing tablet and stylus. This song is a tribute and a prayer to Kalliope, asking her to  bless our creative process and this body of work. Renell wanted to write a song for the album in 7/8 with a smooth, relaxed topline to push ourselves creatively.”

Aruba Red will launch ‘Latent Echo’ by playing the album in full for the first time with a special show at London’s World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens on October 14th. She will be joined by album collaborators Renell Shaw and Camilo Tirado.

While ‘Latent Echo’ sees Aruba Red stepping into a new era, her adventures in music span almost twenty years. Borrowing her moniker from the legendary female pirate, Aruba Red is said to have been a fiery, strong, rebellious and independent female seafarer navigating a male dominated world, her career started when she was discovered by Nitin Sawhney and was invited to perform at his Aftershockextravaganza at the Royal Festival Hall. But just as she was making headway, a tumultuous time in her life put her ambitions on the backburner – she lost her father, became a mother, and broke away from an abusive relationship.

She re-emerged with the ‘Holy Waters’ EP which hit #7 on iTunes, and documented a sold-out London headline show with the ‘Live At St. Pancras Old Church’ album. Further collaborations with Nitin Sawhney followed (a show at the Royal Albert Hall and the track ‘Replay’ from his acclaimed ‘Immigrants’ album), as did other diverse passion projects including training as a radical birth keeper, releasing a guided meditation series for pregnancy, birth and postpartum, and launching her organic apparel brand Aruba Red Treasured.

There’s more to come, too.  An accompanying feature-length documentary film is currently in production to chart the story behind the ‘Latent Echo’ album, which will be an honest and intimate exploration of creativity within constraints.
