RISING SINGER-SONGWRITER BELLA CUTTS SHARES HER SECOND SINGLE ‘CURIOUS’

Bella Cutts’ debut single ‘Run Like A Child’ achieved great things for an unknown, independent artist with a staggering 2500 playlists adds, airplay from BBC Introducing and an organic first wave of acclaim. Now the 20-year-old Bella builds on that strong introduction by sharing her second single, ‘Curious’. The two tracks show that she is an artist who will appeal to fans of Olivia Dean, Adele and RAYE.

‘Curious’ is sleek sophisticated pop, led by Bella’s remarkable voice – one that possesses both the power and energy of youth, with the lived-in expression and soul of an artist beyond her years. Lyrically it explores the relatable experience of being with a self-absorbed partner who shows no real interest in who you truly are, as well as how much simple curiosity and genuine human connections means in a time of fleeting intimacy and online dating. Yet Bella brings a playful defiance and wry wit to the topic with cutting lyrics such as, “I bet you are on your mind as much as you are on mine.”

Bella says, “Unlike many of my friendships, which are built on wanting to know everything about each other, I’ve sometimes looked back on relationships and wondered why someone would say ‘I love you’ when they never really got to know me.

It’s also about curiosity. It’s such a shame not to be curious about the world and the extraordinary people we’re all surrounded by. Being truly curious is an active decision. It is dedication. It is an act of love. The best relationships take time and effort, but we often favour quick intimacy over building these meaningful connections.”

‘Curious’ was written by Bella Cutts with her guitarist James Davies. It was produced by Shane Shanahan (AdeleFrank Ocean) during sessions at Westpoint StudiosLondon.

Bella was born in Switzerland to British and Argentine parents. She split her formative years between SwitzerlandSudanMyanmar and Turkey – a background that infuses her songwriting with a broad array of perspectives, and also one that means that resilience in the face of constant upheaval is one of her core personality traits. She moved to England in her teens and now splits her time between London and her family home in Devon.

Having also collaborated with Ed HarcourtBella Cutts has several more releases planned as the year unfolds. Expect more in the live arena too, with a mix of full band and duet performances.
