BEN P WILLIAMS EXPERIMENTS BETWEEN INSTRUMENTS WITH TRANQUIL SINGLE ‘A GAP IN THE RAIN’

Ben P Williams, introduces the world to his forthcoming tranquil offering ‘A Gap in The Rain’ . The soothing offering has pockets of soft acoustical strums, jazz-like piano melodies as well as an enchanting element of strings in the background of it all. Moulding the classic song-writing sound of Paul Simon with the laid-back nature of Jack Johnson, Ben draws inspiration from the greats while injecting his own wit and imagination for lyrics which perfectly encapsulate relatable experiences to make you smile.

During lockdown Ben acquired a free piano from Facebook marketplace. It was a bit battered and bruised but after some TLC and a tune upit was as good as new. Gap in The Rain was the first song Ben wrote on the new piano.

“I’m more of a guitarist than a piano player, so I was just moving my fingers around on the piano and hoping for the best. I found some nice chords and started singing the chorus melody over the top. It was raining heavily outside; I was literally waiting for a gap in the rain so I could go for a walk, having been stuck in my house all day due to lockdown”

Gap in the Rain is a taste of what’s to come, as the first in a series of singles that Ben is eager to release in the coming months.

As a guitarist, Ben has worked with Grammy award winning producers, appeared on BBC 1,ITV and Channel 5, and played concerts supporting major artists such as Nile Rodgers and Chic, Will Young, Mick Hucknall and Lisa Stansfield. He has supported artists on European tours and at festivals around the world including South By SouthWest Festival in Texas.

After years of working on other peoples’ projects, Ben woke up one day and randomly wrote a song by and for himself. This song opened thefloodgates and was the catalyst for Ben to pursue his solo endeavours as a singer-songwriter. It later featured on his debut album, Who Do You Think You Are?, which was released in 2015 to critical acclaim and received airplay on BBC Radio 2 (Dermot O’Leary Show) andBBC Introducing Manchester.
