Minneapolis-based producer and songwriter Nathan Stocker is Brotherkenzie, he releases LP NATHAN via Thirty Tigers, a catharsis in the form of 12 tracks about fighting your demons, leaning into heathen ideals and self-loathing. NATHAN‘s guiding light lies in Stocker’s viciously honest narrative told through audacious confessional lyrics backed by fuzzed-out guitars, feathery piano chords, making him the new face of melancholic indie-pop.
CLASH called the album a “sprawling manifestation of self, putting into disheveled words all the destructive, cyclic, shameful and selfish fragments of his behavior [with] twangling guitars, grand production.” The album release follows singles “GET ON IT,” “DIE BROKE,” “BIKE NO MORE” and “OVERGIVER” and was written between March and November 2020. It was recorded and produced with friend and Baby Boys collaborator Caleb Hinz in Minneapolis, MN. This marks Stocker’s third full length release as Brotherkenzie and follows 2020’s BIG WHAT.
This autumn, Stocker will embark on a string of dates in the midwest in September as Brotherkenzie with more to be announced. Buy tickets here: brotherkenzie.com
