Critically acclaimed Australian artist Chet Faker releases his new album, the anticipated next chapter of his storied career, A Love For Strangers, on BMG.
The record sees Nick Murphy – the ARIA-winning songwriter, musician, and producer behind Chet Faker – come full circle, returning to the sense of restless exploration that inspired his earliest work. Across the album’s 12 songs, Chet Faker ruminates on heartbreak and uncertainty on a grand scale – asking questions about how we relate to each other, examining the ways in which we fail to do so, and extending a necessary sense of hope when it comes to repairing our relationships with the world around us.
The album is accompanied by focus track “1000 Ways”, a yearning ode about falling for someone who keeps slipping just out of reach. Extending the breakbeat-laden melodicism of recent release “Over You” and first single, “Far Side of the Moon”, the track continues to explore the blurred lines between devotion and despair.
