World Premiere of EBONY BUCKLE “The Mermaids Said No” (Official Video) Jan 25th

Australian storyteller Ebony Buckle takes us on a whimsical folk-pop journey with her complex harmonies and imaginative lyrics. As a successful actress, Ebony has starred in shows all over the world with a highlight being BBC 1’s drama, ‘Inspector George Gently’ where she played a folk singer. This showcased Ebony as a performer in every sense, with her covers of Silver Dagger and Matty Groves topping the charts all over the world! Through this, grew her love of song writing and her newest project was born.

Ebony’s newest single, ‘The Mermaids Said No!’ is a surreal love story for fans of Kate Bush and Regina Spektor, which relates to her latest heartache after being separated from her partner overseas for years by the Home Office. Now back with her husband in London, together they have formed a leftfield Folk Pop band with a flair for the dramatic as their live shows take you on a trip which will capture your imagination through humour, surrealism and heart-warming stories.

Ebony Buckle is a London-based Singer/Songwriter with a flare for the dramatic and an imaginary friend called Susan the Raptor. She and her husband Nick Burns form a Folk Pop band, featuring complex harmonies paired with whimsical, lyrical stories, ranging from the more traditional subject matter of romance/broken hearts to disgruntled Mermaids and Alien Invasion. The feedback from gigs has always been that the audience has been taken a journey. In the words of FIGHT author Hazel Gale;“It’s a rare thing to find music that speaks so directly from (and to) the heart. Wonderful!”Ebony is also an actress and reached number 1 in the iTunes World Music charts for her covers of Silver Dagger and Matty Groves, which she sang while playing a folk-singer on the BBC1 drama ‘Inspector George Gently’.
