Internationally-renowned British singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé has shared her ‘Acoustic’ release via Chrysalis Records. It includes two new, stripped-back versions of her previous singles “Look What You’ve Done” and “Family“, beautifully showcasing the emotional and honest songwriting she has become known for.
Acoustic’ arrives alongside a video for “Look What You’ve Done (Acoustic Version)”, which finds Emeli performing the song solo at the piano, where the self-produced song began to take shape. Speaking about “Look What You’ve Done (Acoustic Version)”, Emeli reveals that she is “So pleased to be able to release this acoustic version of ‘Look What You’ve Done’. I wrote this song on the piano, so this recording allows the track to shine in its purest form.” On
“Family (Acoustic Version)” Emeli shares: “I loved recording this song acoustically, it brought out a deeper feeling to the lyric for me. It was an honour to perform with Yoana Karemova, who brought the power and sensitivity to the beautiful piano arrangement by Raymond Wuiman Yiu. Performing together felt magical!”
‘Look What You’ve Done‘ and ‘Family‘ were Emeli’s triumphant first tastes of fresh music in two years, introducing a new era, which she describes as “‘an ode to resilience, rebirth, and renewal.”
