Emerging singer/storyteller Ian Harrison has dropped his debut EP, Jealous.
“I chose Jealous as the title because I truly feel that it sums up the season of life I was in writing a lot of these songs. It was a strong emotion for me for a long time as I was dealing with comparison, and being young,” shared Harrison. “I hope anyone listening to this EP really feels like they know me a little bit better and who I am as a person. I wanted this project to help people know that their experiences are real and there are others dealing with the same thing.”
Featuring previous releases “Games,” “Cigarette,” and “Not Yours,” plus four new tracks, the EP is an examination of the quiet chaos Harrison can feel being 24 and unsure: unsure of what you want, how to get there, and why it feels like everyone else already has it figured out. While envy can easily become an all-consuming emotion, the rising talent views it as a guide – a totem that can encourage going deeper and seeking the answers within yourself instead of the lives and possessions of our neighbors. Across songs about longing, rejection, faith, and complacency, Harrison explores the messy, revelatory, formative experiences of early adulthood.
Harrison recently wrapped his opening stint with Cooper Alan throughout the U.K. and Ireland, earning praise from Entertainment Focus who observed, “Opening for Cooper Alan on his first-ever UK visit, Harrison didn’t just warm up the crowd—he staked a claim…Harrison left the stage not just as an opener, but as someone audiences will return to see.”
