Kate Klein blends raw energy with hypercharged storytelling, creating anthems for the beautifully reckless. Alchemising alt-pop, hyperactive hyperpop, frenetic electronic and punkish belligerence, her music traverses the sonic spectrum. It’s a devil-may-care stance that saw her previous track ‘STUCK’ highlighted at Nels Nylton’s Future Alternative on Radio 1. He became her latest Radio 1 champion adding to support from Jack Saunders and Alex Holcombe, while further airplay has come from John Kennedy at Radio X. Now Kate shows her flair for turning bad choices into bangers with the new single ‘FMSB’.
A fireball of audacious attitude and anarchic aesthetic style, ‘FMSB’ is for anyone who’s chased the thrill, bought into the fantasy, and dealt with the wreckage afterwards. It’s reckless, chaotic, and knowing better but doing it anyway – like texting your ex at 2AM, sinking one more shot, or thinking money or love could fill the void. It’s neon-lit chaos, it’s impulsively addictive, it’s straight to the point – it’s everything that makes Kate Klein the artist that she is.
Kate says, “I wrote this song two years ago inspired by ‘Euphoria’ and ‘Spring Breakers’… basically my life. It’s about chasing the thrill, living fast, and realising too late that you’re in way too deep. Still waiting for my healing era, but until then… I’ll keep making messy songs.”
Kate wrote ‘FMSB’ before producing the track with Raf Riley (Ashnikko, Elliphant).
Her upcoming debut EP ‘Love, War and Other Human Inventions’ is coming soon, blending alt-pop, hyperpop, and punk with a full dose of chaos. From an all-girl pop-punk band in Italy to producing with Teddy Marquee (Dua Lipa, X Ambassadors) and Stefano Moro (Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign), Kate’s journey has been anything but predictable.
Her influences stretch across the musical landscape, from Post Malone, Lil Peep, Gwen Stefani to the current scene stars like Charli xcx, Royal and the Serpent and Chappell Roan. Factor in some country and some metalcore, and it’s clear whyKate Klein can’t be pigeonholed into any easily definable space. Continue to expect the unexpected.
