| I started writing the first few songs on my EP, Fallout after a dramatic crash and burn of a 2 year situationship. Some songs were also written in the relationship that followed, so songs like Infrared and Two Ways were made as I explored that new relationship after healing from the previous one. Throughout the process of making this EP, each song has continued to mean something new to me over time. Sometimes there’s a more subconscious part of you that understands the truth about something before you consciously realize it. That subconscious voice speaks through songwriting, and I realized later on what I was trying to tell myself as I wrote those songs. When I think about this EP now, it means more about my relationship with myself than it does about any romantic relationship. Specifically, it’s the internal battle that happens when you realize you’re being neglected, or mistreated VS the part of you that believes in passion, love, and devotion. Being so attached and committed to someone, but at the same time knowing that you deserve better. |
