New York-based artist, KYOSi,  announces her single, “Boo Radley,” from her impassioned , poltically-charged new EP, Negative Space, due out June 21, 2019,

The three-track release is a blend of ethereal pop, folk, and nods to jazz. Negative Space takes listeners on a journey through grief and anger by exploring themes ranging from class politics, race and gender issues, to the coercion of capitalism. The EP serves as a political commentary on the current administration and the injustices being faced nationwide.

Dani DiCiaccio is a singer, producer and audio curator based in New York City. She loves dogs, quiche and burpees.

DiCiaccio’s musical education began at the Eastman School of Music, but not even four years of classical voice could train away the pop sensibility that kept her crooning Ella Fitzgerald and Boyz II Men into the shampoo bottle.

She went on to receive a degree in ethnomusicology at Ithaca College and studied Modern Ghanaian music at the University of Legon in Accra.

Dani sings and produces electronic/pop/house under the name KYOSi. Her teenage love of R and B grew up to embrace electronic compositions that build, turn, loop and layer. To her training as a vocalist, she has added professional certifications in Pro Tools and Ableton Live, her current writing and performance DAW (geek-speak for Digital Audio Workstation).

Teaching production played a huge part in building her own technical chops. She served as director of programming at Unity Studio, an Ithaca non-profit, where she made beats, sang and rapped with middle and high-school students. Her time teaching electronic music production at the MacCormick Secure Center, a maximum security juvenile detention facility in upstate New York, was the most intense and formative experience of her music career: seeing teens convicted of horrific crimes actually smile when a beat dropped taught her how vital music can be.

DiCiaccio’s responsibilities as Audio Media Lead at Pond5 include: supervising the curation of audio intake; building a best-in-industry collection of royalty-free music and sound effects; cultivating lasting relationships with contributing artists while helping them monetize their creativity; and composing original music for the company’s ad campaigns.
