Indie-pop singer and songwriter Maddie Regent ushers in a bold new era with her new single, “See Me.”
Blending ambient production, intimate lyricism, and sweeping melodies, “See Me” explores the strange vulnerability of being fully known by someone else. Written alongside her creative partner and fiancé, producer and songwriter Cade Hoppe, the track balances melodrama and honesty with effortless precision.
“‘See Me’ is about how the last piece of yourself to show someone is the side that gets cold feet and leaves them at the train station with your bag,” she shares. “Now suddenly this stranger knows you better than anyone else, and I don’t think there’s anything more romantic than that.”
Born and raised in Toronto and now based in Los Angeles, Maddie Regent crafts immersive songs where romance, anxiety, fantasy, and heartbreak collide. Drawing from a childhood spent staging elaborate plays for her family and escaping into fictional worlds, she channels her vivid imagination into expansive, narrative-driven songwriting that romanticizes the intensity of being alive.
Regent began writing songs at 12 years old, though music only became a serious pursuit during college when she started collaborating with other writers and producers. Since making her debut in 2021, she has released two acclaimed EPs, MISS REGENT and Girl of Your Dreams, followed by her 2025 debut full-length album, On the phone with my mom.
Backed by a growing fanbase and praise from tastemakers like Ones To Watch, Atwood Magazine, and EARMILK, Regent is emerging as one of indie-pop’s most exciting acts. With “See Me,” she steps into a new era of songwriting that feels more honest, cinematic, and emotionally fearless than ever before.
