When Maria Nyström said goodbye to ”The Naima Train” she already knew what she wanted to do but something held her back. She realized she had to go back to the days of bedroom recordings and spontaneous creativity. It has now been three years since the work with these songs started but now we’re finally here to set them free.
It’s a six-track EP starting with Silhouettes upon the waves towards the beaches and the shorelines. The feeling of oceans and beaches goes through all songs and she delivers happiness about what’s now and expectations about tomorrow. With a rhythmic foundation she blends hot darbukas, smooth piano loops, delicate samples with dynamic vocals.
Two singles was released earlier this year and with the ep Shell she consolidates herself as one of sweden’s most interesting music writer and producer. Because MANX wasn’t the end of The Naima Train, it’s the beginning of everything else.
