NATALIE BERGMAN RELEASES SOPHOMORE ALBUM MY HOME IS NOT IN THIS WORLD TODAY VIA THIRD MAN RECORDS

Chicago-born, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer Natalie Bergman releases her highly anticipated sophomore album, My Home Is Not In This Worldout today via Third Man Records

Infused with throwback sounds and vintage textures, My Home Is Not In This World draws on the timeless grooves of the 1960s while layering in soulful basslines and luminous vocals. Co-produced by Bergman herself with her brother and longtime collaborator Elliot Bergman, the 12-track collection shimmers with gospel soul, country-western heartache, and rock ‘n’ roll grit, all anchored by Natalie’s unmistakable voice.

Where her critically acclaimed 2021 debut solo album Mercy was steeped in grief and spiritual reckoning after the sudden loss of her father and stepmother, My Home Is Not In This World emerges from a season of rebirth. In 2024, Bergman welcomed her son, Arthur, an experience that transformed her songwriting into something equally tender and transcendent. The album balances heartbreak and loss against the transformational theme of motherhood, resulting in some of her most personal and radiant work to date.

The album includes the newly released single “Lonely Road,” a track infused with classic influences that showcases Bergman’s luminous vocals and knack for timeless melodies. “Lonely Road” follows earlier singles “Dance” and “Gunslinger,” each offering a glimpse into the shimmering songwriting and evocative production that define this new era. “Gunslinger” sets the tone with smoky vocals, ghostly guitars, widescreen strings, and a slow-burning groove that evokes classic western film scores and vintage soul. Lyrically, it conjures a portrait of unrequited longing, for a something that feels just out of reach.

To celebrate the release, Bergman will embark on a run of headline shows across the UK and Europe this fall. Additionally, she will join Rilo Kiley on their highly anticipated reunion tour this summer, performing across select dates in major cities throughout North America.

Bergman’s solo work has garnered widespread acclaim from Rolling Stone, NPR, and other tastemakers, and with this new collection, she further cements her reputation as a songwriter unafraid to mine her own story for universal truths while staying true to her unmistakable sonic palette.
