Nitefreak, Zapapaya & La Negra Hawkins Join Forces on ‘Negra Soy’

Zimbabwean Afro House trailblazer Nitefreak released his single, ‘Negra Soy’ with Zapapaya and La Negra Hawkins via Afroholic Records. Nitefreak is one of the leading voices in the global Afro-House and Afro-Progressive House movement. A self-taught DJ and producer who began his journey in 2009, NiteFreak has built an international profile through a string of standout releases and collaborations. His breakthrough remix of Magic System‘s “Premier Gaou,” produced alongside Francis Mercier, achieved Gold certification in France, while his extensive list of collaborations includes Francis Mercier, Black Coffee, RÜFÜS DU SOL, BLOND:ISH and Grammy-nominated duo Amadou & Mariam. 

His releases on labels including Spinnin’ Deep, Higher Ground and Deep Root Records have further cemented his position in the scene, while earning support from Black Coffee, Diplo, Keinemusik, Bedouin, Solomun, Vintage Culture, Pete Tong, Gorgon City and Nora En Pure. His music has also received BBC Radio 1 support, millions of streams, Top 5 Beatport placements and editorial support from Spotify and Apple Music. NiteFreak is also the founder of Afroholic Records, an independent label created to champion authentic African electronic music and provide a platform for artists shaping the sound of the continent and its global diaspora.

Nitefreak will headline Amajoyo presents Afroholic ADE on Friday, 23 October, bringing his acclaimed Afroholic Records imprint to Soulkitchen Amsterdam for a special night celebrating the connection between African and European electronic music as Amsterdam Dance Event marks its 30th anniversary. Running from 23:30–05:00, the showcase sees NiteFreak join forces with Amajoyo, the Afro House, Afro Tech and Melodic House events brand and record label founded by Dutch DJ and producer De La Noise, with a full lineup featuring NiteFreak, De La Noise, Wilson Kentura, Thami The Unknown, Elson Soares, Randoree and Marinus. Amajoyo presents Afroholic ADE takes place on Friday, 23 October 2026 at Soulkitchen Amsterdam, bringing the full lineup together for a night dedicated to Afro electronic music, culture and community.
