Riaz Ahmad is a fresh new act with his debut EP out for release this February. The four tracks cover themes of family, migration and love with distinctive influences from modern folk and a contemporary twist from the likes of Moses Sumney and Bon Iver. Musically it’s an eclectic mix with a crisp blend of tabla and sitar-based fusion to jazz-folk tinged mandolin.
After opening for Jack Clarty on his UK tour last year and celebrated for his shows with his highly respected Beatles cover band, Riaz is known for his live performances and incredible voice. The newest single ‘Pray to God’ is a perfect example of his musicianship and pure tone which reflects throughout the whole EP.
Championed by BBC Introducing Oxford and BBC Asian Network with exciting plans for 2020 and live shows to be announced.
